documenting the many uses for the common pocket knife
Hot off my successful day of using my brand new pocket knife for various tasks, I ran into my first failure that same evening. Attempting to tighten a tiny screw on my sunglasses proved to be too difficult to complete with the sharp point of my pocket knife. The issue with my pocket knife was the point was simply too sharp and the knife simply turned within the slot without turning the screw. If the screw, or clearance was enough one could possibly tighten the screw with the blade placed horizontally but for this application a simple pocket knife will not do.
It occurred to me that if I replaced my pocket knife with a Leatherman, Swiss Army knife or non-branded equivalents I would be better prepared for a situation like this as both carry their own screw drivers. However at this time, I’m sticking with my limited, but simple pocket knife as I prefer the lightweight and simple approach to something that has everything and the kitchen sink.
